MARCUS CRAWLEY reports from Broadhall Way

BORO fans might have feared their former striker would return to haunt them.

But their predicted nemesis would surely have been this season's top Conference marksman Justin Richards.

Instead burly Craig McAllister, another man discarded by Graham Westley, struck a late equaliser to deny Boro a deserved three points on a freezing Tuesday night at Broadhall Way.

There was plenty of interest in the two line-ups as a third ex-Boro player, Neil Smith, now captains the Cards and Boro's new hotshot Jefferson Louis was a Woking player last season.

Added to this, Boro's new capture from Championship side QPR, Adam Miller, was making his debut for the club.

On a tricky surface, Miller looked easily the best midfielder on view and his arrival should definitely boost the Boro play-off bid.

Flowing football was always likely to prove pretty difficult in the cold conditions.

The slippery surface did not affect Woking keeper Shwan Jalal as he was off his line to block off former team-mate Louis in a rare early threat.

Smith, given far too much space, should have given his side the lead when he headed straight at Alan Julian.

A clever combination between Darryn Stamp and Louis saw the former fire horribly high and wide when the preceding play deserved better.

Keepers Jalal and Julian also dealt fairly comfortably with Stamp's header and Ian Selley's deflected drive during the half.

Louis was equally as culpable as Smith in the first minute of the new half. He shot over from a knockdown following a short corner when he should have added to his Boro account.

Woking looked to have a massive reprieve minute later.

Simon Jackson was injured - to be replaced by Karim El-Salahi - in the incident where he appeared to handle in the penalty area.

Jon Nurse and George Boyd, who both had quiet games, tested out the handling of Jalal but the keeper was powerless just after the hour mark.

More good work from the impressive Miller allowed Justin Gregory to send over a delightful cross for Stamp to rise and head home.

The game even at this stage appeared to be there for the taking.

Substitutions for both sides failed to alter the balance and it was a real surprise when Woking pulled level.

A rare slick Woking move saw McAllister in space just outside the box. He accepted the opportunity and shot past Julian into the corner to send the travelling contingent wild.

Boro must have been pigsick and yet could even have snatched a winner.

New boy Eric Obinna, on for Louis, sent a weak header at Jalal in added time.
