The fighting spirit of Lisa Aldwinckle from Stevenage Town has been rewarded.
Lisa (above) earned the honour of captaining the East of England under-17s against their Midlands counterparts.
She was part of the victorious East of England side that became national champions last year in the regional under-17s girls' rugby finals in Derby.
Despite then being the youngest and smallest of the squad, she was selected in the East's finals squad of 25. The East had a 100 per cent record by beating tough sides from the Northern regions.
Lisa plays for Stevenage Swifts who have a thriving under-17s side.
