Blueharts and visitors Harleston Magpies played out a stalemate.

Harts had a number of short corners in quick succession at the start but each chance was missed by the narrowest of margins.

Harleston began to get back in the game but great defending from Gillan Ide and Colin Burnell made sure that Harts went in level.

After the break, disaster struck when Oliver Hammond was yellow carded and sent to the sin bin for the mildest of stick tackles. Ashley Hammond then joined his younger brother for voicing his disagreement with the decision!

Harts were up against it, nine against 11 for 10 minutes, but survived and nearly scored a short corner of their own before the end.

Letchworth shared the points at Vauxhall Motors to remain second in the table behind Berkhamsted.

Tom Wharton scored for Letchworth in a hard-fought 1-1 draw.

Stevenage followed Saturday's league defeat by taking an under-strength team to Epsom the day after and bowing out of the HA Trophy in a 4-1 defeat.

David Fisk suffered a broken nose early on as Stevenage trailed by two goals at the break.

Epsom scored a third on the restart and things got worse for Stevenage when skipper Danny Blackburn was ordered from the pitch for a waist-high challenge after the Epsom striker was clear on goal.

Mike Oliver then crossed for brother Ben to score a well-deserved consolation goal. Epsom added a fourth late on to book their place in the next round.

MBDA suffered another defeat as they were beaten 4-1 by Harpenden 3rds.

They conceded three goals from set pieces in the first half before scoring a consolation goal as Nigel Bollig got through Harpenden's defence and shot well into the far corner.

Harpenden grabbed a fourth goal, this time from open play.
