Stevenage Boro Ladies were unstoppable in winning by 5-1 at local rivals Hitchin Hearts.

Boro were a goal up inside eight minutes, when Katie Light's shot from the edge of the area found the net.

The same player scored again 10 minutes later, from a similar distance, this time with her left foot.

Just after the half hour, Light's through pass found Ana Ruiz Jerez and the Spanish striker made no mistake.

Five minutes later, a spectacular free-kick from Hitchin's Laura Ravenscroft found the net and Boro went into the break 3-1 up.

Boro remained dominant in the second period, and Natasha Rolt's determination in front of goal reaped dividends, after she had been put through by Ellie Luke's lofted pass.

With 15 minutes to go, the Light/Ruiz Jerez partnership again prospered, with Ruiz Jerez finding herself one-on-one with the Hitchin goalkeeper Mel Sayer. She coolly added her second of the afternoon and Boro's fifth.

Arlesey Town Ladies were 4-0 home winners over fellow strugglers Hoddesdon Owls, who could only field 10 players for the match.

The first goal arrived as Marie Clarke crossed low and hard for Mia Price to convert the easy opportunity.

Arlesey used their subs to great effect against the 10 players, bringing on fresh legs in vital areas.

After a couple of near misses - Clarke hitting the crossbar with a left-footed strike, and a corner from Sarah Tayler that was just headed over by fellow sub Karen Walker - Arlesey scored three times late on.Another supersub, Kayleigh Saunders, struck first on 77 minutes when she got on the end of a Tayler cross.

Saunders added to the Arlesey score in the 85th minute and the final goal came a few minutes later.

Karen Lee passed the ball out to Tayler on the right, who crossed for Walker to meet with a left-foot volley.

Hitchin Town Ladies were beaten 2-1 at home by Hackney Women.

The home side went 1-0 up as Danika O'Riordon passed the ball out wide to Katie Baldwin. Her cross into the box from the right was met by the head of captain Kirsty Cooper.

Hitchin failed to capitalise on their advantage and allowed Hackney to get back into the game shortly after the break.

The game looked as though it would remain another 1-1 draw before tired legs and a lapse in concentration enabled the visitors to take the lead.

Hitchin are fourth at present and hope that they can get back on track to challenge for a place in the top three.
