The long journey was worth it for members of Richard's Trampoline Club at the grade two nationals in Newtownards, Northern Ireland.

Lauren Jones had the most successful day, despite a few errors during the warm-ups.

She produced some excellent routines when it mattered and scoring a massive total of 53.4, she easily won her group and qualified for the grade two national championships later in the year.

Her difficulty level was a lot higher than anyone else in her age group, showing her readiness to progress to grade one.

Charlie Mussino narrowly missed out on first place.

He was on top form during the first two rounds, also scoring enough to qualify for the grade two national championships.

Knowing he had the all-important qualifying mark he added in an extra double somersault during the final routine but struggled to control it so moved down into second place overall.

Lisa Withey struggled during her warm-ups but she managed to produce an excellent compulsory set routine.

This put her in second place, so the pressure was on during the voluntary routines.

Some impatience at the end of her following routines dropped her down into third place overall.

Nothing went right for Natasha Rastogi during her warm-ups.

But she began with a good compulsory set routine leaving her in first place. Unfortunately some travel at the end of her voluntary routine saw her land the last move on the frame pad. This incurred some large deductions, and she moved down into seventh.

Lee Meakin managed to improve upon his previous score and finished in a respectable fifth place.
