The Year Eight footballers from Nobel School in Stevenage have become county champions once more.

The boys built on their success of last year of becoming district and county champions by winning this season's English Schools' FA county cup recently.

They are now through to the South East regional finals of the prestigious competition.

Nobel beat Queens School 5-1 in the Minute Maid under-13 county final in a match played in rain and strong winds.

After ten minutes, striker Ronnie Robertson stormed through the defence to score the first goal with ease.

He then sneaked in with a header about five minutes later to score a second.

Queens pulled one back about five minutes from the end of the half when one of their players fired a shot in the top corner.

Immediately after the restart, Nobel scored an excellent goal from a free-kick by Reece Louden, putting the ball in the top corner from long range.

Two further goals scored again by Louden and fellow defender Greg Butler put the game to bed.

The boys were: back row, left to right: Dan Begley, Jahmell Mullings, Reece Louden, Ben Murphy, Jahrome Mullings, Chris Kennett, Greg Butler and Tom Butler. Front: Craig Stout, Louis Perry, Jack Every, Greg Butler, Ben McGahan (captain), Ronnie Robertson, Jack Ridley and Ross Goodship.
