The Hitchin Sunday Football League

This Sunday sees Kcinsatop take on Moggerhanger Sunday in the first round of the Carlsberg FA Sunday Cup as the Hitchin Sunday League's sole representatives.

They will be hoping to go further than last year's participants, Red Star and The Well, who both fell at the first hurdle.

The game kicks-off at 2pm at Potton United's The Hollow and Stuart Potasnick and the boys would appreciate any support they can get.

They warmed up for the big game with their second victory against Engineers Henlow this season.

In a tight encounter, Kcinsatop eventually edged home with two goals in the last 20 minutes from Jay Norris and Rob Beckwith.

It was not enough to move them to the top of the table.

That honour falls to Red Star ICL who have put their early season troubles behind them.

Stotfold Sunday were on the receiving end as James Campbell (hat-trick) and Patrick Alcide scored to give Red Star a 4-0 success.

Will Bianchi in the Red Star goal saved his third consecutive penalty to ensure his side kept their clean sheet intact.

Whitwell leapfrogged their opponents HTS Barleycorn into third place after a 5-2 victory.

The evergreen Gordon Guile led the way with four goals accompanied by Wayne Mullooly's strike, Greg King responded with a double for HTS Barleycorn.

AC Malone are still looking for their first point of the season after going down 5-0 at home to PJ Hitchin. After a goalless first half, Dorian Small (two), Adie Turner (two) and Ryan Foster all found the target.

SMU are top of Division One after an impressive 6-0 demolition of bottom side Walsworth.

The in-form Adam Sayer struck a hat-trick to give him 10 goals for the season already while further goals from Michael Gray (two) and Neil Hamilton completed the rout.

It went goal crazy at The Creamery where AEK Letchworth and HTS Barleycorn Res shared 10 goals to come away with a point apiece.

Ben Weston (hat-trick), Lands Sutton and Danny Clarke scored for Barleycorn but a five-goal salvo from the prolific Micky Smith made sure that AEK got something from the game.

Ocean's XI won 5-2 at Angels Reply, Trevor Long (two), Andrew Bliss, Ian Robinson and Neil Hardy scoring.

Cannon Res enjoyed a 5-3 success at home to Wanderers, James Burdis, Robbie Somers and Ross Cook (hat-trick) with the goals.

Broadmead moved joint top of Division Two after goals from Chris Tembey (two) and Danny Carroll gave them a 3-1 win at home to Wilbury.

It was the same scoreline as Radcliffe Arms enjoyed a home success against Paynes Park. Steven Cox scored twice and Tim Roads netted the other to ensure victory, Brian Humphries scoring the Paynes Park consolation.

SMU Res took the lead through Chris Reedey against North Herts Hatters but the happy Hatters struck back with goals from Lee Walker and Mark Cauldron (hat-trick) to secure a 4-1 victory.

Dynamo Letchworth were beaten 4-0 at home to Shillington, Dan Gruncell finding his scoring boots as he apparently netted all four!

The games between Baldock Sunday and The Park and the George and Dragon against The Five Bells were postponed.

In the Herts Sunday Intermediate Cup, all three sides from the Hitchin Sunday League were eliminated,

Offley Parish suffered a heavy 9-0 loss at FC Rising Sun.

Whitwell Res came out on the wrong side of a seven-goal thriller against Tring Res, Tommy Farrelly (two) and Luke Wright scoring.

MBDA beat Kcinsatop Res 6-2, their goals coming courtesy of Gary Wallace and Chris Slattery.

In the Herts Sunday Junior Cup second round, Verulam Arms beat Wanderers Res 4-0.
