THREE youngsters from the Knights Templar School in Baldock were joint fifth in the British Heart Foundation Junior Golf Championship at The Belfry.

The trio of Joe Smith (two handicap), Laurie Owen (five) and Mark Hammond (10) had played through both local and regional rounds to win their place in the national final.

They competed against 20 other teams on the day to finish with a score of 75 in the stableford point event - the winning score was 78. Smith shot a gross score of three under.
