GARY Brown scored the fourth highest aggregate of runs in the Home Counties Premier League Division Two East this season.

The Stevenage opener (shown left), who made his Herts county debut at the end of the season, helped his side finish the campaign as runners-up.

Brown scored 657 runs and was only behind big hitting Sri Lankan Kash Weeraratne from Potters Bar (837), Hoddesdon's Rory Coutts (782) and Steve Cordingley from Hertford (782).

Stevenage clubmate Naseer Ahmed was fifth on the list with 593 runs and all-rounder Gareth Berg 11th with 504 runs.

Despite their relegation, two Knebworth Park players scored more than 400 runs - David Lowe (426) and county wicketkeeper Tom Jenkins (415).

Former Letchworth man Robbie Smith, now at Radlett, also scored more than 400 runs (413).

Stevenage's left-arm spinner Azhar Ali was fifth in the bowling list with 41 victims.

Clubmate Syed Ali Kazmi was seventh with 38 wickets and pace bowler Berg showed his prowess by claiming 34 wickets for 13th spot.

Aussie all-rounder Anthony Park took 37 wickets for Knebworth Park in their disappointing season.

Former Jamaican left-armer, Ryan Cunningham from Sawbridgeworth, was top with 51 wickets and Radlett's Stuart Browne second with three wickets less.

Stevenage old boys Murti Hussain, now at Welwyn GC, took 46 wickets to be third on the list and fellow spinner Kris Canagasabey - who also plays for Henlow - took 30 wickets during the season.

Former Henlow man Bobby Sher, who played at the club as a teenager, scored 462 runs for Slough in the demanding Division One.
