ARLESEY Town made it five games unbeaten - but four draws - as they were held at home by Waltham Forest.

Saturday's visitors were rock bottom of the Ryman League Division One North at the start of play.

Arlesey's first effort saw James Gray head over and then he had the agony of seeing a goalbound header flicked over by one off his own players.

Waltham Forest were generally looking a bit sharper than the Blues and were winning most of the 50-50 exchanges at this stage.

Neither side really looked much like scoring until the 36th minute. Paul Bloss took a throw which was returned to him and his cross swung over the keeper and in.

Kaan Fehmi was replaced by Louis Lee three minutes later.

The goalkeepers continued to have a fairly easy life after the break.

Lee Tekell was replaced by Nicholas Linford and then Ivan Finch was replaced by Fabian Forde.

The match meandered from end to end but Arlesey were unlucky not to score a second. Forde turned his marker and hit a cracking shot which came off the post with the keeper well beaten. Moments later, he fired another shot that cannoned off a surprised keeper and ran to safety.

The points looked safe until a real sickener in added time. Victor Renner was thwarted by a superb save from Jack Rashid but never gave up and flipped over to scissor kick the rebound home.

Blues: Rashid, Dillnutt, Bloss, Finch (Forde), George, Stanley, Fehmi (Lee), Tekell (Linford), Gray, McKenzie, Rydeheard.
