A new provision for girls playing football in Hertfordshire has been set up.

It will provide an informal, less competitive environment for them to play.

The Hertfordshire Girls' Football Partnership is committed to promoting the development of girls' football in the county, ensuring that all girls have the opportunity to participate in a safe and supportive atmosphere.

The first weekend of festivals took place at the end of September and covered most of the ages catered for, with more than 150 girls involved.

The next festival will take place this Saturday at Ridlins playing fields, Stevenage, and local club Bedwell Rangers are proud to be hosting this event.

Girls aged between seven and 13 are welcome to go along and join, and within a short period of time they too can play in the festivals which take place every month.

The fun starts at 10am and should finish around 1.30pm.

For further information on the partnership, please call Louisa Suff from the Herts FA on 01462 650219.

* Bedwell Rangers are looking for girls of all ages to play for its current teams.

If you are interested in joining the top Herts FA development club, please call Steve Trowsdale on 07960 100630, check out www.bedwellrangersfc.co.uk or go along on the day.
