Hitchin Town play Corby this Tuesday at Top Field as they begin their defence of the Errea Cup.
The Canaries, who ironically were at Corby last night (Wednesday) in the BGB Premier Division, are keen to retain the cup they won last season according to manager Darren Salton.
"We gained a lot of pleasure and satisfaction from winning the Errea Cup last season and it means a lot to us; we would dearly like to win it again this time around," he said.
The Errea Cup was arguably the biggest piece of silverware won by Hitchin since 1970 and Salton will not give it up in a hurry.
"We will field our strongest side for this game," he insisted.
"I want to win as much as possible and I know our supporters are eager to win any competition we enter."
By the time Corby arrive at Top Field, Salton may have an embarrassment of riches to choose from in his forward line.
With Grant Carney now regaining fitness and Josh Sozzo back at the club, Salton has to find a place for Chris Dillon who was expected to play a part at Corby last night.
"We have an excellent squad this season and once everyone is fit I have a problem to deal with - but it is a very nice one to have," he added.
This weekend the Canaries travel to Halesowen for their first Saturday fixture for three weeks.
