There was final disappointment for a local team in the Khalsa Football Academy annual five-a-side tournament on Sunday at the Bunyan Sports Centre in Bedford.

There were teams from Birmingham, East London, Berkshire, Bucks, Beds and of course Herts.

Local sides Khalsa Letchworth and Letchworth met in the quarter-finals in what was an intense battle.

It ended in victory for Letchworth thanks to a spectacular strike from Jason Kangora.

Letchworth then beat another local side Red Star in the semi-final after a penalty shoot-out.

ABD Slough won the tournament for the fourth year on the trot by beating Letchworth 4-1 in the final.

Quarter-finals: Red Star 1 Punjab United 0; Khalsa Letchworth 0 Letchworth 1; API Slough 3 Bedford 1; ABD Slough 4 Eastern Eagles 2.

Semi-finals: API Slough 0 ABD Slough 4; Letchworth 2 Red Star 2 (Letchworth won on penalties).

Final: ABD Slough 4 Letchworth 1.
