The cost of watching Boro is going up next season.

Admission prices at Broadhall Way will increase by £1.

Chairman Phil Wallace said: "The Conference will go to 24 teams next season.

"When you look at the competing clubs, one has to say that nowadays the Conference has lost that 'non- league' look and is made up mostly of full-time professional clubs, most of them ex-Football League.

"It's a tough competition and it won't be easy to succeed.

"We can expect fierce competition for a top five place from the likes of Oxford United, Rushden, Halifax, Exeter, York, Morecambe, Aldershot, Kidderminster, Cambridge United and so on.

"Many of these clubs have higher attendances than us and most of them have higher admission prices.

"We've frozen our admission prices for some while.

"I think we've only increased prices once in the seven years I've been at the club as we are keenly aware that value for money is crucial to our fans.

"Costs do rise each year and we are therefore forced to address this every now and then to try and get back to where we were.

"The board have pledged that every penny from the increase will go on the playing budget to give the new manager every possible chance to compete for success."

Wallace continued: "The onus is on the club now to provide the sort of attacking, attractive, winning football that is worthy of the entrance money.

"We intend to strengthen the squad further once the new manager gets his feet under the table and will do everything we can to deliver value for money.
