Stevenage and North Herts javelin thrower Neil McLellan made his Great Britain debut at the weekend.

It was at the Norwich Union International - which saw Great Britain competing against the USA, Russia and China - at Birmingham on Sunday.

This was the highlight of a successful year for Neil, with all his hard work being recognised by his inclusion in the GB side.

He threw an excellent 70.44m against some of the best throwers in the world to finish eighth.

McLellan defends his UK Challenge title on Saturday.

Other club members were again competing at several different venues around England.
