This year's North Herts table tennis summer league was a great success.
The additional eight tables purchased by Hitchin Boys' School helped the league comprise 22 two-person teams playing on 11 tables with one for practice.
Now the North Herts Table Tennis Association (NHTTA) is preparing for the winter league and a national Grand Prix tournament in March 2007 for this Olympic sport.
Alex Murdoch, chairman of the British Table Tennis Federation and member of the British Olympic Committee, said: "It's great to see so many players of all age groups enjoying themselves and filling the sports hall."
Murdoch himself lives in Letchworth GC and plays in the local league run by the NHTTA.
