TWO Stevenage lads have helped their youth football team win a prestigious international competition.

Jake Tyler and Luke Robins were part of the Buntingford Town Youth under-19 side which won the Dana Cup in Denmark.

They played eight games in five days, beating some top sides from Europe and South America in the process.

After winning all three of their group matches, the boys went on to beat opposition from Bangladesh, Germany, Norway, Brazil and Spain to deservedly claim the trophy.

The Dana Cup has become the world's third largest youth football tournament and 64 teams competed in Buntingford's age section.

More than 850 teams in total entered the competition at all ages on its 25th anniversary.
