Victorious first team show Hart

Biggleswade beat Luton Town and Indians by five wickets on Sunday in the Beds Premier League.

Luton won the toss and elected to bat but they were soon on the back foot.

Dangerman Jeremy Page and Flanagan consolidated the innings by putting on 80 for the third wicket to take Luton to 99 in the 26th over.

More wickets fell, including that of Page for 54, and Luton only scored six runs from their last four overs to end on 199-9.

Openers Kevin Wright and James Peacock put on 62 before Wright was Khamkar's first victim, caught behind for 30 in the 17th over.

Hart joined Peacock and a further 28 runs were added in the next six overs before Peacock was adjudged leg before to Khamkar for 36.

A solid 23 from Jay Szwajbak took Biggleswade to 141 in the 34th over and when Matt Twigg joined Hart, Biggleswade needed 59 for victory with 12 overs remaining.

Biggleswade's target got down to just 15 runs from the last five overs. Hart made it to fifty off 81 balls before chipping an easy catch to Flanagan in the 42nd over.

This was another matchwinning innings from Hart, who has now scored exactly 50 in his last three Beds League innings and has only one score below 40 this year when he was run out backing up in the game at Luton earlier in the season.

Twigg was stumped for a run-a-ball 29 but Biggleswade won with an over to spare.
