Stevenage seconds failed to take the final two wickets against their counterparts from Sawbridgeworth.

The new opening pair of Russell Hann and Saeed Ali made a blistering start in the heat in the Saracens Herts League Division Three clash.

Hann fell for 42 before Ali was adjudged to be run out.

Albert Sodhi and Adil Zargar carried on making the Sawbo bowlers toil.

Stevenage recorded 283-4 with Zargar scoring his third fifty on the bounce and Sodhi unbeaten on 45.

Ian Brown (8-31) took all of the eight Sawbo wickets to fall in response and he was twice on a hat-trick.

Burrell provided stubborn resistance scoring a well-worked unbeaten fifty as Sawbo hung on for the draw.

The thirds won by 34 runs against Allenburys in Division Nine.

Stevenage reached 206 all out inside 42 overs after openers Andy Armstrong (80) and Laurie Brown (47) shared a century stand.

This left the home side 58 overs to chase a mediocre total on a flat track.

Allenburys' middle order capitulated much like that of Stevenage and they were finally bowled out for 172.

Skipper Ben Leet (4-29 off nine) and Rhys Stewart (4-28 in 10) did the damage.

The fourth team just failed to capture the last wicket of Tewin 2nds.

Stevenage rattled up 245 all out as Jack Mitchell's ton was supported by Sudesh Bell (56).

Tewin's ninth wicket fell in the penultimate over to set up a tense final over which they survived.

Kev Jones (3-58 in 15) and Ashley Daniels (3-43 from 12) were the key bowlers and they were well supported by Simon Wood (2-21 in 11).

* A weakened Stevenage Academy side put up an excellent performance against a far more experienced Chorleywood outfit.

Despite taking early wickets to reduce the visitors to 66-5, Stevenage let Chorleywood off the hook as the visitors added 123 for the sixth wicket.

Once the stand was broken, the home side quickly wrapped up the innings for 207 all out with Luke Martin taking three wickets (all bowled) in one over.

Fine debut bowling by 13-year-old Ryan Slater (3-35) placed Stevenage on top before Martin (4-17 off five) closed the innings.

An opening stand of 51 by Scott Reid (36) and 13-year-old Jason Chapman (25) gave Stevenage an excellent start.

Scott Davies (19), Rhys Stewart (16) and Connor Hayward (22) all got started but when the fourth wicket fell at 123, the later batsmen could only bat out the remaining overs at 152-8.
