There was an emphatic winner in the Broadview Windows North Herts League local derby between the two Ickleford teams.

The Division Two match was reduced to 35 overs per side with Ickleford batting first and making a decent 184-7.

Kevin Watson top scored with 40, while Richard Starkey extracted some spin with 3-34 from his seven overs and Dave Allen bowled a tight spell of 2-15.

Ickleford Cricketers attacked from the beginning with Sean Sehmbey (29) laying the foundations for a brutal assault by Jon Hare (65no) and Ian Cousins (57no).

The pair hit the ball to all parts to lead the Cricketers home by eight wickets with seven overs to spare.

Holwell all-rounder Adam Parkins was again in magnificent form in Division One.

He blasted a chanceless 108 with good support from Nigel Pointing (69no) as Holwell amassed 221-5 against Great Gaddesden.

Parkins then took 5-30 as Gaddesden were all out for 140, extras top scoring with 43.

Baldock lost by 65 runs at home to Crawley Green Nomads.

Crawley Green batted first and got 189-9 off 40 overs, Andy Payne taking 3-44 for Baldock.

In reply Baldock could only muster 124 all out off 37.2 overs in a disappointing batting display.

Logan Newman top scored with an entertaining knock of 26.

P On Sunday, Hitchin lost to Radlett in the Chess Valley League by 29 runs.

P Preston recorded their first victory of the season in the Chess Valley League against Cockfosters on Sunday.

Cockfosters won the toss and elected to bat first reaching 208-9 from their 45 overs with the wickets shared around.

Preston reached their target with five wickets down in the 42nd over, Warren Hearne top scoring with 71no and he was well supported by both Indika (65) and Dave Fleckney (47no).

Their seconds went down by six wickets at Eastcote in the Chess Valley League.

They were inserted by their Middlesex hosts and could only muster a modest total of 145-8 in 45 overs. Top scorers were Ben Hill (33) and Chris Newell (31).

The home side made easy work of reaching the target despite some hostile bowling from Finlay Devon-Connah who picked up 2-35.

P There was a one-sided Beds League Division Two clash as Henlow beat Cople Argus by nine wickets.

The hosts reached 134 all out with teenage all-rounder Andy Hicks taking 4-32.

Then after the early loss of Ashley Dunn to a stunning catch in the covers, Hicks (52no) and Nico Hand (67no) saw Henlow race home in 17.4 overs.

Dave Warwick put the seconds to the sword as Southill Park 2nds rattled up 286-7, Warwick scoring a ton.

Despite good knocks from Mike Fernando (44) and Stuart Goldsmith (55), Henlow fell 72 runs short.

Henlow beat Millman Saturday One leaders Houghton Town by four wickets.

Paul Lewis and Wayne Goldsmith took three wickets apiece as the visitors were bowled out for 179.

Michael Johnson (55) and Dave Warwick (28) shared a good opening partnership before Dunn (26no) steered Henlow to victory.

The seconds went down by nine wickets after only totalling 101 all out, Stuart Goldsmith (48) scoring nearly half of Henlow's runs.
