Woolmer Green Reserves won Division One North and Fairlands knocked county cup finalists Baldock Town out of the Greg Cup in a dramatic afternoon of North and Mid Herts Football League action.

Fairlands went 2-0 down in the first half against Baldock, Mark Nunn and Harry Holland scoring.

But Fairlands managed to score four times in the final 13 minutes to book a final spot.

The key was the long throw of Michael Beeton launching the ball into the danger area for his team-mates. Kenny Liggett scored two, plus Warren Green and Ross Braine one each.

Woolmer Green won the league with two games to spare after beating City Hearts 5-1.

A deflected shot against the run of play saw City Hearts take the lead through Luke Morgan.

Simon Parnell was adjudged to have been fouled inside the area and scored the penalty himself to pull level, and it was soon 2-1 as Dave Byatt netted.

Jamie Campany was running riot and scored twice in the second half with Parnell completing the scoring with his second to see Woolmer to victory and the league title.

In other Division One North games, AFC Santos beat Bedwell Rangers Res 4-1, Chris Burliston and Martin Flood scoring one each and Gavin Crooke two. Simon Longman scored for Bedwell.

Baldock Town Res beat Westwell 8-1, Nick Blenkin, David Rhys and Matt Ryall scoring two each, Mark Roe and Martin Wright one apiece.

Benington and Codicote shared the points in a 1-1 draw.

In the Premier Division, St Ippolyts continued their winning streak beating Redbourn 6-2.

Goals came from Anthony Athalee, Andrew Levy and Wayne Maguire plus a hat-trick from Ryan Foster.

Magnum picked up all three points against London Colney A in a 4-2 win. Trevor Long, Brett Coverdale and Ian Treanor were among the scorers.
