Datchworth polo player Dean Lines will be mixing with good company in April.

He has been invited to compete in The British Open High Goal Arena Polo Challenge at the British Open Show Jumping Championships from April 12-15.

Dean will join leading arena players Tim Bown, Jack Kidd and Howard Smith at the new venue, Birmingham's NEC, to battle head-to-head for the title against a host of top players.

In its third year at the British Open, the arena polo competition continues to grow in popularity and remains the only indoor high goal match in the UK.

Visitors will see daily arena polo matches with the final taking place during Sunday's British Open Championship performance.

Each match will consist of two chukkas with the teams comprising three professional players to ensure the highest standard of play.

The British Open welcomes new team sponsor Butchers Pet Care Ltd who are delighted to be supporting the arena polo competition and will be eager for a team victory during Sunday's nail-biting final.

This challenge will once again form part of the unique programme of world-class show jumping bespoke competitions such as indoor cross-country, and mesmerising equestrian displays at this innovative event which will be staged for the first at the NEC, Birmingham, this year.
