Letchworth Ladies had to come from behind for a share of the points against Thurrock despite dominating the game from the start.

Their pace and passing looked to be far too strong for the visitors in the opening 20 minutes, and it seemed only a matter of time before the home side would crack the Thurrock defence.

Letchworth were unable to convert possession into goals and it was the Essex side who took the lead from a penalty corner after 23 minutes after a rare foray.

After that, Letchworth struggled to regain their early dominance and it was only in the closing seconds of the half that they equalised from a fine drag sweep shot from Helene Wehrmann.

The second-half possession belonged almost entirely to Letchworth, with the visitors rarely penetrating their 25.

Despite some excellent approach play, Letchworth were unable to capitalise in front of goal and had to settle for a point.

Letchworth face further Essex opposition with an away trip to high-flying Sudbury this Saturday.

Blueharts Ladies were beaten by a late winner from Vauxhall Chiltern.

Some brilliant play in midfield by Lizzie Bayley and Jo Floor cut through the home side's defence and provided their forwards with some early chances on goal.

Harts took a 1-0 lead through a well-worked short corner with Kerry Ross slotting the ball low into the goal.

Vauxhall Chiltern got more and more frustrated with their opposition and the officials.

After Ross was badly tackled at the top of the D, the short corner was contested and a defender shown the red card for verbal abuse to the umpire.

The home side struggled with 10 players for the rest of the half but came out with renewed determination after the break, equalising after a well-struck short corner.

Harts then had a goal from Bayley disallowed and Vauxhall Chiltern stole the points with a late winner.

The seconds suffered their first defeat of the season against Queenswood.

Depleted due to injury and availability problems, Harts conceded four goals in the first half.

Player of the match was Sam Addison who made some excellent saves in goal despite it not being her normal position.
