The Comet Stevenage Sunday Football League

With a wash-out of all council pitches again, just four games survived.

Premier Division champions Nirankari Sports Sabha travelled to South Oxhey to play St Joseph's in the Herts Sunday Senior Cup.

With no recognised goalkeeper, they were beaten by a nap hand to nil; no other details were provided by a side obviously gutted to go out in such a way.

The other three remaining CSSFL teams try again this Sunday.

In the Division One Cup at Barclay School, MBDA finally took on Pig and Whistle for a place in the quarter-finals against Aston Athletic.

The home side were in front inside 30 seconds when Jamie Campany slotted home from Ade Barry's through ball before their opponents touched the ball.

Tom Younger had a chance to extend the lead but his penalty hit the bar before Pig stormed back.

Firstly, a half-volley from Callum Newbury whistled past Ian Mann and in off his post.

Then, after a succession of corners, the ball was despatched by the head of Ryan Chilcott into the top corner.

Campany restored parity again before the break. Barry put the home side in front again before hitting the bar shortly afterwards.

Then Campany finished sublimely for his hat-trick before netting again from Gav Bowler's through ball for his 21st goal of the season. Strike partner Younger joined him on that mark from another Bowler pass.

Having switched from a postponed council pitch, MBDA Res were playing Division Three leaders White Horse alongside them.

Jason Lovelock headed home a Darren Harman cross to put the leaders in front but Hayden Jones levelled after Steve Stapleton's shot had been saved.

Stapleton also hit the bar before Si Wagstaff gave them a shock lead, heading home a Sam Bickerstaff corner. Frazer Triggs rattled home the equaliser before White Horse won it with five minutes to go when Harman smashed home a loose ball from a corner.

Across the road at Thomas Alleyne School, Fox led early on through Gary Henniker before AFC Stevenage equalised from the spot through Terry Lock after a foul by man of the match Alex Collins.

Fox then took control as Kevin Ward struck home with a low drive off the post before Henniker scored a cracking individual goal.

Ross Randall had a shot parried onto the bar by Ben Broadbent before Collins hit the post.

The scoring continued in the second-half as Ward cut inside two defenders to net before Henniker completed his hat-trick.

Lee Perkins then came off the bench and scored a debut brace; the first was after a great ball in by substitute Sam Dance, the second was a screamer with the outside of his boot to leave Broadbent with no chance.
