The Zen Kempo Ryu Ju Jitsu Association has celebrated its 25th anniversary.

The club has run a junior class in Stevenage since 1981 and many have continued to adults.

In December, the club held an awards presentation, recognising children who showed outstanding ability in ju jitsu over the past year.

They were Ciaron Cookland, Jasmin Coughtrey, Martin De'ath, Charlie Edwards, Jiam Rizo, Lauren Shields and Harry Wales.

The Zen Kempo Ryu Ju Jitsu Association are one of the few martial arts classes who do not charge for junior gradings or for insurance.

They currently have more than 40 juniors aged between six and 14-years-old training in the system.

Classes are held at the Shephall Leisure Centre in Stevenage on Sundays from 5-6pm.
