FORMER QPR keeper Peter Hucker was at an Easter soccer scheme run by the Letchworth-based Khalsa Football Academy (KFA).

Hucker, who played against Spurs in the 1982 FA Cup final, helped deliver some excellent coaching on the final day.

He also helped with the presentation ceremony and also agreed to be the first patron of the Striving For Unity project run by the KFA.

Hucker said: "I worked with some very intelligent players. It's great to see players of all abilities participating in the KFA project."

Organiser Bal Singh added: "The projects in Letchworth have been delivered by volunteers who have dedicated endless hours of their time. It's great that Peter Hucker gave up his time to support the work we are doing in North Herts."

The KFA have provided a platform for key issues facing Asian youth since 1988. These include racism, social exclusion, education and under representation of Asians in football.

Although the KFA project encourages more Asians to participate in football, members of all different community backgrounds are welcome.

The KFA deliver coaching sessions by UEFA licenced coaches and soccer competitions between different areas of Letchworth and Hitchin.

They have established excellent partnerships with Hitchin Town, the Herts FA and Beds FA as well as the Herts Police.
