The teams of June Clay, Shay Mumford, Gill Walker, and skip Shirley Page, together with Muriel Saunders, Pat Goodwin, Gill Calver and skip Jenny Ralph, beat the ladies from Acle by 31 shots (47-16).

Shirley Page travelled to Oxford and City to play her ladies' area finals singles, but unfortunately lost by nine shots (12-21) to Debbie Stavro from Desborough Maidenhead.

Tony Webb was in the Champion of Champions finals at Warners Gunton Hall over the weekend. Unfortunately he went out in the first round to Chris Davies from Bournemouth.

Riverain gained four points out of six in their ladies' county league match against Hatfield. The teams of Enid Newman, Barbara Clark, Shay Mumford and skip Gill Walker, together with Joan Welch, Jean Hayward, Diane Porter and skip Veronica Mead, lost by a shot (33-34).

Riverain narrowly won their men's county league match against Cheshunt by three shots (86-83) and by nine points to four.

Riverain won by six shots (103-97) in their midweek friendly against Rushden.

The winners were Muriel Cooper, Nita Harper and Colvin Cooper (skip) with 40 points. Runners-up were Pam Stacey, Bill Williamson and Ted Stacey (skip) with 28 points.

* Herts IBA beat Kent by 29 shots (124-95) at the Riverain club last Thursday.
