A 33-YEAR-OLD man is running the London Marathon in memory of his mother who lost her four-year battle with cancer in October last year.
Trevor Long, of Monklands in Letchworth GC, is hoping to raise more than £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
He said: "If it wasn't for the Macmillan nurses, she wouldn't have got through what she did."
To prepare for the race, Trevor has been running three to four miles every evening, as well as getting training tips from two friends.
If you would like to make a donation to Trevor's chosen charity, Hitchin pubs The Anchor Inn on Cambridge Road and The Bricklayers Arms on Queen Street both have buckets on their bars.
