Stotfold recorded their 10th successive league victory and passed 100 league goals for the season in thrashing Holbeach 4-0 at Carters Park on Saturday.

Paul Garrett could have had the first goal two minutes in when Lee Allinson's free-kick dropped at his feet, but a poor connection made it a comfortable low save for Nick Conroy.

The home keeper was almost made to pay for a poor clearance shortly afterwards but Luke Donnelly lifted his strike high over the bar.

Luke Donnelly then missed a better opportunity, flicking Allinson's low ball into the box over the bar from six yards out.

A low shot wide from Matthew Warfield was quickly followed by a good cross from Joel Mason that Conroy palmed away from Luke Donnelly's head.

The opening goal came on 24 minutes after Mason's shot was deflected over for a corner. Garrett's kick was flicked in off the head of Allinson at the near post.

The home team barely had time to reorganise as a minute later, Mason's ball through the middle put Louis Lee in to stab the ball under the keeper.

Two chances near the end of the half could have brought Holbeach back into the game.

Antonio Pascu put a free-kick on the edge of the box well over the bar after Tawhid Juneja's foul, and a misjudged ball over the top was put wide by Tommy Treacher when he had the goal in his sights.

The Tigers half-time team talk must have gone straight out of the window when Ricky Case was brought down twice in the box.

The first challenge looked the more serious but referee Tony Sharrock blew up for the second and pointed to the spot allowing Allinson to fire in the third goal a minute into the second half.

The pressure continued throughout the half with Stotfold keeper Brad Gillham having little to do.

Case was unlucky not to score when his shot came off the upright and ran along the goal-line.

The fourth goal followed a succession of corners.

Luke Donnelly's header at the near post was blocked on the line, the ball then ricocheted off Donnelly and into the net on 67 minutes.

Lee tried his luck with a low strike that was well held by the goalkeeper on 88 minutes.

The last kick of the game came from Omar Joof with a challenge on Luke Donnelly bringing his second yellow card after an equally poor tackle on Paul Donnelly in the first period.
