Former Hitchin Town striker Gary Roberts brings his Cambridge City side to Top Field on Bank Holiday Monday (3pm kick-off).

City were enforcibly relegated last season over ground grading rules and Roberts has had to motivate a mid-table Blue Square South squad for BGB Premier football.

Roberts admitted: "This impacted on our team building plans severely. The result being we have lost a few players."

Among Roberts' squad is another Hitchin old boy in Richard Wilmot, who signed for the Lilywhites in the summer.

Like the Canaries, Cambridge lost their opener at Chippenham, but won in midweek against Corby Town.

Canaries manager Darran Hay is looking forward to a testing weekend for his team.

On Saturday they visit Yate Town, who are unbeaten after two games and beat troubled Merthyr 4-0 in midweek.

Hay said: "Both games will be tough. Yate is not an easy place to go and they will be brimming with confidence.

"Cambridge has the makings of a real tussle. I expect this to be one of our hardest games of the season, but we looked more like ourselves at Oxford and we will be looking to make amends for losing our first home game against Swindon.
