IAN Poulter has not been the only Stevenage golfer dreaming of Open success recently.
Teenager Charlie Douglass is hoping to make it through to the RICOH Women's British Open at Sunningdale which runs from next Thursday to Sunday (July 31-August 3).
The Brocket Hall member played in the pre-qualifier for the British Open last Monday at The Berkshire Golf Club.
There were 125 players, including professionals from around the world who had not earned exemptions, and amateurs off scratch or better.
On a course that was set up off the back tees, Charlie shot three over par and made it through by finishing 23rd - only one of five English amateur players to do so.
Only 25 players went through to the final qualifying this Monday where 85 pros and amateurs will play for just 18 championship places.
