Ironman Rob Wilson is now a 'Norseman' having completed the world's toughest long distance triathlon event in Norway.

The point-to-point event started off with a boat trip into the 400m deep Hardangerfjord for the 3.8k swim back to the bike transition, swimming against the current!

The 180k bike leg started with a brutal 1200m climb in the first 20k and the marathon run to the mountain top finish culminated with 17k up the mountain with the last 4k scrambling up scree.

Rob completed the Norseman Challenge in 15-20:25 and then had to walk down the mountain as the cable car was out of order, making the total event time 17-10.

His split times for the event were: swim 1-27:35, bike 7-06:56, and run 6-28:54.

Three veteran FVS TRI athletes represented Great Britain in the World Long Course Duathlon in Geel, Belgium.

Brian White was 10th in the 50-54 age group covering the 18k run, 74k bike and 9k run in 4-10:35, despite requiring five stitches to the head after the event having collided with a signpost with 1k to go.

Samantha Tophill was eighth in the 40-44 age group in a time of 4-45:41.

Simon Hall was unlucky to slide off his bike in windy and wet conditions and had to retire to the medical facility after the first lap of the bike.
