The Comet Stevenage Sunday Football League's constitution was confirmed at the recent annual meeting - and you must get your house in order.

Also on the night, some new rules were agreed, one of which mean a good secretary is a must, or the club could be removed after a few discrepancies (writes Darren 'Statto' Jones).

The committee are not allowing the same again this season, especially with so many clubs in the league.

Presentations were also made to:

Referee of the Year: John Batcheldor.

Golden Boot Award: Nirankari Sports Sabha Res.

Golden Gloves: ProCladd.

Club Sportsmanship: Stevenage Leisure.

Club Linesman: Broadhall.

Club Secretaries: DC Out Bar, Fox, MBDA.

In the constitution, a strong Premier sees the top two from Division One changing sponsors, while Bottles slip into Division One. They are joined by Nirankari Sports Sabha Reserves, who excelled in Division Four last season.

Also with them are Dun Cow Reserves, who swept almost everyone aside last season in their Division Two campaign.

The bottom four were relegated, two of those were consulted, while Fox got their wish of promotion which they thought was theirs until Morecambe Wanderers leapfrogged them due to gaining points from an ineligible player.

Division Two has those four sides from Division One, plus champions ProCladd, A1 Trophies and King Pin United from Division Three.

Three itself has a couple of useful-looking sides too as Probuild Reserves have been formed, Stevenage Fencing are also in the mix.

Then there's Division Four, containing a few new sides, Athletico Timebridge may be one of the favourites.

The clubs are due at the pre-season meeting on Monday, August 18, at Chells Park, where they will receive their first few fixtures, plus result cards and more registration forms if required.

A few of the clubs have private venues, while the borough council have not helped matters as Hampson Park three has been removed from the list as it has been deemed dangerous.

The league had already lost Chells Park one during last season to rugby.

It has been promised that some extensive work is going into the pitches over the summer.
