Neil McLellan won a creditable bronze medal at this year's British Championships and Olympic trials at Birmingham on Saturday.

The Stevenage and North Herts AC javelin thrower peppered the 70m line throughout the competition.

His best of 70.38m in the second round was good enough to hold off the rest of the field, and give him third place.

Moving across the country to Wrexham, North Wales, under-20 man and clubmate Josh Morris competed for the first time in the Welsh Championships, collecting the silver medal for second in the 800m race (2:04.26)

The men's team competed at Milton Keynes in their Southern League match.

Winning it places them third in the 16-team league table with one match to go - at Stevenage on August 2.

Many first places were taken - Cameron Webb posted two personal bests in winning the 100m (11.1) and the 200m (22.6); Marcus McKechnie (400m hurdles A and 3000m steeplechase A); and Sam Poulton (800m B and triple jump A).

Best of all was returning member Elior Harris who took four first places (110m hurdles A, high jump B, long jump A, and triple jump B).

Don MacAuley, Adam Searle, Callum McKechnie, Barry Mainstone, and Laurie Pirie had one first place each.

The men also won the 4x100m and 4x400m relay events.
