Holwell's star batsman, Adam Parkins, was in magnificent form on Sunday in the Broadview Windows North Herts League.

Parkins must have been watching the recent televised Twenty20 exploits of Essex all-rounder Graham Napier as he smashed a brilliant unbeaten 146 which included 15 sixes!

He had good support from captain Nigel Pointing (30no) in an unbroken 186-run partnership as Holwell scored the 202 needed to win in just 25 overs for only one wicket.

Baldock had batted first and made their highest score of the season so far with 197-3 in 40 overs, with Rob Peacock scoring 54 and his brother James 68no.

Bottom club Ickleford gained a comprehensive victory over Titanic.

A good all-round batting performance saw Ickleford reach 217 all out.

The innings was given a good start with James Robinson and Steve Munnery setting a good pace. Munnery made 23 while Robinson went on to an imperious 59.

Then Jack Edwards scored 28 and Duncan Jenner 30 before a mid innings blip saw a clatter of wickets but Peter Robinson was unbeaten on 19 to see Ickleford to 217.

Titanic were never in the hunt as Ickleford bowled well and they soon fell well behind the asking rate. They finished on 103-8 with James Robinson and Darren Seaby each taking two wickets.

* Datchworth captain Tom Bennett provided another fine batting display as he made 67no chasing down an under-par total of 140 made by Lilley in Division Two.

Earlier in the day, good bowling from Chris Blackham (1-17), Reece Pybus (3-32), Will Nash (3-19) and Bennett himself (3-22) stopped Lilley from amassing any sort of challenge, despite an aggressive start from opposing captain James Ashby and Tompkins (37).

Bennett and Brunton (28no) put on 102 for the third wicket as Datchworth cruised over the line with 15 overs to spare.

The phrase 'catches win matches' certainly applied to Weston as they took all nine chances at Codicote.

Having been put into bat, thanks largely to the experience and fluid hitting of Will Pugh, who was out agonisingly just two runs short of his century, Weston were able to post a reasonable total of 184-9 in 40 overs.

In reply, Codicote soon began losing wickets regularly but great maturity was shown by Jordan McQueen who steadied the ship.

Fine medium pace bowling from the Weston Colts duo of Timmy Stevens and Dan Plumb, who took a career best 6-22 in 5.3 overs, won the day. Once McQueen was caught on 32, the rest of the home side's innings faded away to leave Weston victorious by 37 runs.

* Henlow made it three consecutive wins in the Beds League Division One on Sunday.

Wayne Bilcock took 3-49 in his 10 overs as Kempston Hammers totalled 226-8 in their 46 overs on a perfect Henlow batting track.

Henlow lost a couple of early wickets in reply and despite 30 from Adrian Crawley, the game was in the balance at 68-3. Then Wayne Goldsmith, 16 fours and four sixes in an unbeaten 104, and new boy Sandun Dias, three big sixes and seven fours in a stylish 56, shared the matchwinning partnership.

Charlie Jones (15no) joined Goldsmith to see their side home with more than 12 overs to spare.

The seconds lost to their Southill Park counterparts in Division Three in a dramatic finish - by one wicket in the last over!

Opener Phil Chudley (61) carried the early batting and Pete Edwins' late 24 got Henlow up to 153 all out, Dave Pike taking 3-21.

Adam Nunn, just 13, was the stand-out bowler in the match as he took 3-12 in his eight overs and Southill were nine down when father and son Tony and Ben Woodbridge squeezed their side home in the final over.

Henlow seconds beat their Biggleswade counterparts by 10 wickets in the Millman Saturday Three.

Adam Dommett took 3-16 as the visitors were dismissed for only 72.

Opener Scott Spicer raced to an unbeaten 48 as Henlow reached their target in 11.3 overs.
