Shaun Turner has become the envy of every young Streetball fan.

The 23 year old from Hitchin beat hundreds of competitors across the UK to play against the world famous Streetball Extreme team in the MAOAM Streetball Extreme UK tour grand final.

Streetball, the latest sports craze to hit Europe, is an urban form of basketball but with more relaxed rules and an emphasis on style and flair.

A nationwide search to find the UK's best young streetball talent took place in Stevenage as well as Shenfield, Burton on Trent, Taunton, and Sittingbourne throughout May and June.

Shaun was first spotted at the Stevenage event where he challenged the Streetball Extreme team.

His creative moves and stylish abilities impressed streetball legend Tom 'Con-man' Connors so much he was invited to join nine other players at the MAOAM Streetball Extreme UK tour grand final the same afternoon.

Despite his dazzling dribbling, dunking and display of freestyle basketball skills, he narrowly missed out on being crowned MAOAM Streeball Extreme Champion but returned home with pride intact.

Shaun said: "I love playing Streetball and this has been such a great experience.

"Playing with Streetball Extreme has taught me new skills and confirmed what a great sport this is to play. I'm now determined to train harder for next time."

Tom 'Con-Man' Connors from Streetball Extreme added: "Choosing an overall winner was a tough choice and Shaun made it even harder by pulling out some really impressive moves. I'll be very interested to see what else he can do next time we see him.
