Crown Jewels Onyx missed out on silverware in week two of the Bedford and District Netball League cup finals.

They were playing Cranfield Tigers in the Second Division final.

Crown Jewels and Cranfield Tigers were in runners-up and third place respectively in their leagues.

Tigers eventually won the first quarter by six goals to four. In the second quarter, Tigers edged ahead and with minutes to go, Crown Jewels could not get the ball into their goal shooter, Jess Micallef, and went down 5-2.

The third quarter was a different story - Tigers scored first but Crown Jewels with Jema Spicer in defence ensured they took a 5-1 lead. Tigers fought back and it was back down to a one-goal lead for Crown Jewels but they held their nerve and their centre passes and came out winners 7-5.

Crown Jewels needed to win the last quarter by a four-goal margin. Both teams were nervous and the game went with centre passes for the first few minutes.

However, Crown Jewels made too many errors and allowed Tigers to take the lead and win the last quarter by seven goals to five and the trophy.

The Fourth Division final between Christians in Sport and Allsorts Angels was between the runners-up and third place respectively in the division.

After the sides were deadlocked after three quarters, Allsorts Angels finally won the last quarter and with it the divisional cup.

The last final of the season was between Grangers, Premier Division finalists and league champions, and new team Cranfield Nomads.

Cranfield Nomads made it a double for the Cranfield club on the night by taking the trophy.

The plate winners were Lions from the Fourth Division, Ampthill Black from the Second Division and SRL from the Premier Division.
