Datchworth beat their bottom of the table visitors to get their season back on track.

Against the run of play, Datchworth conceded a penalty which the opposition duly put away to take the lead.

For the remainder of the half, Datchworth laid siege to the Fullerians line but the visitors weathered the storm, taking their narrow lead into the interval.

Datchworth were camped in the opposition 22 for the majority of the second half and their pack started to turn the screw and dominated the scrums and lineouts.

A succession of quick rucks and forward play saw an opportunity to shift the ball to the right wing where strong winger Marc Bush dived over to score the first try of the game. The conversion was missed.

With Datchworth's forwards dominant, Fullerians' replacement props buckled and had to come off the pitch, leaving the referee with no choice but to move to uncontested scrums.

It was from one of these early uncontested scrums where Datchworth tried a clever move where the ball was popped to winger Henry Mountain who powered over for another five points. A successful conversion saw the villagers go 12-3 up.

Datchworth were now playing territory rugby, soaking up possession and dictating play. The opposition had one attempted comeback which soon fizzled out with a green wall stopping any threat of a score.

From a consistent lineout ball, Datchworth drove from about 20m out to rumble over with hooker and player-coach Richard Elvery scoring in the corner.

Datchworth are now in the top half of the table and look ahead to this Saturday's fixture at Bank of England with a renewed confidence.
