A great game of rugby at Hemel on another incredibly sunny Saturday afternoon was enjoyed by a large number of locals.

With two teams playing very different styles of rugby, the victory really could have gone either way.

Hemel at times were perhaps playing the more consistent rugby, keeping the ball in tight in an attempt to suck in as much pressure as possible in order to slow the game down.

Datchworth, quite opposite to this, were trying to speed the game up and counter whenever possible.

Individually, the backs and forward pack play was extremely effective, but it was when these two major facets of their game failed to link together efficiently that Datchworth knew it was going to be a tough afternoon.

With the game ending up 29-24 in favour of the home team, Datchworth must concentrate on replicating all the positive aspects and work on introducing these to as many areas of their game as possible, rather than dwelling on the mistakes and missed chances.

Datchworth will now play at home to second placed Barnet Elizabethans this Saturday.
