North Herts youngster Anna Collis starred in the 2008 Annual Vancouver International Junior Badminton Championships in Canada.
Competing against players from Canada and the USA, she fought her way through the qualifying rounds to the quarter-finals.
Anna took the match comfortably in two games to move to the semis and on to the most difficult match against a USA youngster in the final where she won 21-16, 21-16 to become junior under-13 champion.
She played the doubles with a partner she had never played with before from Canada and after 12 games they won the under-13 doubles.
Anna played mixed again with a Canadian partner and the pair took the silver medal against an American pair after three close matches in the finals - 21-18, 19-21, 18-21.
