LETCHWORTH Ladies return to East League Division One action this Saturday at Folkestone.
After last week's emphatic victory over local rivals Stevenage, the ladies faced altogether tougher opposition against St Ives in a friendly fixture during the league's half-term break.
On a cold, bleak afternoon, Letchworth struggled initially to come to terms with the conditions and well-organised opposition.
After falling behind on seven minutes, Letchworth conceded a second goal just four minutes later from a breakaway.
The home side increased their lead, against the run of play, midway through the second half from a penalty corner. Letchworth hit back quickly with a nicely taken goal from Sarah Parkhouse, also from a penalty corner, to complete the scoring.
Other scores: Letchworth Ladies II 3 Shefford and Sandy II 1; Letchworth Ladies III 0 Cheshunt 1; Letchworth Ladies IV 2 (Rachel Broom, Hannah Woodhouse) Stevenage IV 0.
