Blueharts overcame Peterborough 3-1 thanks to two goals from Ollie Hammond and a short corner strike from Paul Buckland.

Buckland opened the scoring from the first short corner of the game on 11 minutes as he drag flicked the ball into the net.

After soaking up Peterborough pressure for most of the first half, two minutes into the second, Blueharts doubled their advantage.

Ashley Hammond won the flick after he was upended by the Peterborough keeper before brother Ollie stepped up and put the ball home.

Peterborough got back into the game with 10 minutes to go when they powered home from close range before Hammond added Blueharts' third. He capitalised on a defensive error to bury the ball past the Peterborough keeper.

There were also wins for the second and third teams.

The seconds overcame Braintree 5-3 as Sean Storey bagged two, while Nick Buckland, Phil Britton and Oscar Fas were the other scorers.

Captain Robbie Eldridge and Harry Sampson scored for the thirds as they won 2-0.

The fourth team's game was cancelled, while the fifths went down 3-1, James Edge their scorer.

Letchworth enjoyed league and cup success at the weekend.

They first stretched their winning streak against Cambridge City seconds on Saturday with a strong 3-0 victory.

After numerous failed short corner attempts, Matthew Scott put away a spectacular finish after some intricate stick skills in the D.

More tight skill from Scott then earned Letchworth a penalty flick which Dave Gentry was unable to convert.

After working it around the back of the Cambridge City defence, Tom Butler fired in a cross that took a ricochet off a City stick to take Letchworth two ahead.

After some bullish work and great vision, Scott Apps found the back of the net to give Letchworth a comfortable 3-0 lead at half time.

Dom Batchelor's fine goalkeeping saw him claim his first clean sheet of the season.

Letchworth look to extend their lead at the top of Division One against second placed St Ives this Saturday.

The second round cup tie against Premier B opposition, Norwich City, away on Sunday went down to the wire.

Letchworth took the lead after Apps' rebounded effort fell to Butler who struck home the goal.

Norwich lost two players to yellow cards but Letchworth were unable to exploit this opportunity and the hosts equalised on their return.

The home side then took the initiative, scoring after some poor marking allowed a free player an easy finish.

Dane Hirst ensured extra time when he found himself with time at the back post to put away an excellent flicked finish in the far corner.

With no further goals in normal or extra time, it went down to penalty strokes. Apps, James Keel, Chris Wharton and Gentry all scored, while Batchelor pulled off two great saves.
