Baldock Town Letchworth surrendered a half-time lead and conceded four second half goals in a horror show at Toulmin Drive on Saturday against Park Street Village.

Manager Steve King was at a loss to work out how his side could lead at the break having dominated the opening 45 minutes, but then play so poorly in the second half in what is now Town's third consecutive defeat for the second time this season.

King was adamant there would be changes for the visit of London Lions after labelling his sides performance as "unacceptable".

Town were looking to bounce back from recent setbacks against King's Langley and Mill End Sports and the early signs were good.

Harry Holland had a 40-yard run and shot and he was also able to test the keeper with another fierce shot in the opening five minutes.

Visiting forward Mark Nunn was causing the Park Street Village defence all sorts of problems with most of the good build up play going through him, and it was no surprise when he gave Town the lead on 23 minutes.

Scott Grant floated a free kick into the box from the halfway line and Nunn lost his marker to delightfully glance the ball into the bottom corner.

Despite their first half dominance, Town were thankful to keeper Jack Farmer who made two good saves from one-on-ones in as many minutes.

The second half was a massive contrast to the first though, as the home side punished some poor errors to find themselves 2-1 in front seven minutes in.

As the match wore on, Town started throwing more forward, but were unable to finish any of their chances.

Park Street were always a threat on the counter and scored two in the final minutes to put a gloss on the scoreline.

Bedwell Rangers were away against Hitchin Town Arena who were fourth in the league and the game started with Hitchin pressurising Bedwell.

However it was Bedwell who had the first chance when a ball was played through to Jamie Kingston, who was not able to do much with it due to a very fast surface.

Hitchin did take the lead after nine minutes and this was followed very quickly by a second from an excellent individual piece of skill and finish from just inside the Bedwell area.

Bedwell continued to try and play the football but Hitchin were in a different league.

Hitchin started to stretch Bedwell all over the park by switching the play from one side to the other.

It was not long before they made their opponents with a third goal and they would have made it four but for a missed penalty.

Bedwell did create chances with the best one falling to Taye Fagborun, but although he was able to beat three players to get near to the goal he didn't hit the target.

Hitchin then got a fourth just before the break.

The second half saw a different Bedwell as they started to put pressure on the home team.

Carl Slade had a one-on-one with the keeper which was fantastically saved from close range and he was later taken out in the box but the referee played advantage and Llyod Lee hit the post.

The best goal of the game came when a 40-yard ball was played into the Bedwell box for a Hitchin player to head home.

There was nothing the defence or keeper could have done as the ball was delivered with pinpoint accuracy and it was put away with equal spoonfuls of confidence.
