YOUR favourite local newspaper has been given a pat on the back by youth organisers in the town.

But now we have been asked to help recruit a table tennis coach for Biggleswade Youth Club.

Despite having to close for three months because equipment they had ordered failed to arrive, The Biggleswade Comet has continued to keep the club in the public eye.

The club is now back up and running and last week we highlighted how more helpers were needed to cope with the youngsters coming through their doors on Thursday evenings.

Two people who read the story immediately got in touch with the club's youth co-ordinator Ken Lynch to offer their help.

The man and woman have now been recruited. But the club has asked us to find them a table tennis coach for the youngsters.

"We want to start a table tennis team which can visit other youth clubs and play games," said Mr Lynch.

"The kids love the game but obviously need some coaching to make them good at the game.

"But last week's story in The Comet about us needing help produced two calls from people who will be a great asset to the club."

If you would like to teach the kids table tennis at Biggleswade Youth Club give Ken a call on 01767 681739.
