A local artist is encouraging youngsters to brush up on their art.

Sam Pavey believes helping tots to express themselves through art is a vital part of pre-school learning.

Mrs Pavey runs Arty Tots at St Andrews Chapter House in Shortmead Street, Biggles-wade.

"I have children between the ages of 18 months and threeand-a-half years old at my classes and they all enjoy themselves tremendously," said Mrs Pavey, who lives in Bluebell Close, Biggleswade.

"Children love it. They might be shy at first but after two or three weeks they grow in confidence and express themselves."
