A Facebook group which documents the history of Great and Little Wymondley is celebrating its first anniversary this weekend.

Wymondley Scrapbook will be having a get-together at Little Wymondley’s Bucks Head pub on Saturday from 2.30pm to 5pm, after a successful first year that saw 900 historic photos of the two villages posted.

Founder Robbie Howard told the Comet: “We have had an amazing first year. I cannot believe what a brilliant response we have received.

“The whole aim of the scrapbook is to preserve the photos and knowledge for future generations.

“Many of the photographs have not previously been in the public domain.”

The group, which has 350 members, is also asking for people to fill gaps in research on the villages, with more information revealed at Saturday’s event.
