A drink-driver who went the wrong way down the A505 while almost four times the alcohol limit has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Kate Clements, of Derwent Avenue in Biggleswade, had 124mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath when she was stopped at the wheel of a Mistubishi on the road’s northbound stretch near Baldock at about 8.15pm on March 13. The limit is 35mcg.
The 41-year-old pleaded guilty to drink-driving when she appeared before Stevenage magistrates on Wednesday.
Chairman of the bench Stephen Bubb sentenced her to eight weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, and also banned her from the road for 30 months.
Clements must pay £85 costs and £115 surcharge.
