PATRIOTIC council workers will be allowed to fly the St George's cross in their vehicles in North Herts and Stevenage for the World Cup.
Spokesmen for the two local councils said they did not have a policy against employees flying England flags on council-owned vehicles, unless there were complaints or health and safety issues.
In Mid Beds, a spokesman for the district council said its waste contractor did not allow things in its vehicles on safety grounds at any time of year.
SOCCER revellers are being asked to keep the world in motion this summer by recycling their waste.
Monday saw the launch of The Big Recycle, a Government-funded recycling week.
Fans are being encouraged to think green and are being encouraged to recycle their cans and bottles, as well as any paper waste.
