CELEBRITIES praised the global work of five sixth-formers from Letchworth GC.

The St Christopher School students had the chance to chat with famous names including Gary Lineker and David Shepherd at the Natural History Museum last Thursday.

Alex Forbes, Angelica Ribichini, Ayla Schäfer, Prateek Choudhary and Sam Watts were invited to attend the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation annual prize-giving day in London.

Another St Christopher student, Zara Samm, had her artwork exhibited on the day.

The invitation came from Nicky Vyvyan-Robinson who works for David Shepherd. She had visited St Christopher in January and was impressed by the school's programme of global citizenship through its Rajasthan Project in India.

David Shepherd, wildlife painter and conservationist of international renown, spent a long time talking to the students.

He said that he wished that more schools were as involved in such far-reaching and realistic projects that made a real difference to people in other parts of the world.

He presented the school with a signed drawing of a tiger on which he wrote his thanks for St Christopher's support to his Foundation.
