At the last meeting a very interesting talk on the formation of the Women's Land Army by Stuart Antrobus. He talked of how the organisation was originally not very popular with the farmers and their wives. He showed photographs of many of the Land Army girls he has interviewed whilst researching for his book which he is writing on the subject. The next meeting is on Wednesday, July 12 when Sian Fox of Sainsbury's will talk about healthy foods.
